Plaza de la Constitución

Constitution Square is the historical, cultural, and social heart of Fuengirola. Originally built in 1841, it serves as the main meeting point in the town's old quarter, surrounded by pedestrianized shopping streets, traditional cafes, and a vibrant local scene.

What to see and do in the square

  • Parish of Our Lady of the Rosary: ​​This Baroque church dominates the square. It is the oldest Catholic church in the city and the center of its religious traditions.
  • Pelotillas Tree: An impressive and famous centuries-old ficus tree that has been in the square since its beginnings in 1841. Its canopy measures about 30 meters in diameter.
  • Constitution Fountain: A beautiful fountain with a star-shaped design located in the center of the space.
  • Terrace life: The square is full of cafes and restaurants like Bar Restaurante La Plaza, ideal for having a coffee and observing the atmosphere.
  • Events and markets: It hosts various municipal activities throughout the year, such as its well-known Christmas market.
